Getting to Know ABA Therapy - Free, Virtual Parent Seminars
Has your child recently received an autism diagnosis?
This seminar will provide parents with information about ABA therapy, how to navigate the insurance coverage process, and how to choose a good ABA provider.
Applied Behavior Analysis – or ABA therapy – is often recommended to families following a new autism diagnosis. Usually, families receive little information about how to begin this process and what to look for in a good ABA provider. As the field of ABA therapy grows, the state of ABA therapy delivery is constantly changing in New Jersey.
This can leave families with many questions about what makes a good ABA provider, what type of ABA program is best for their child, what the differences are between home-based therapy and clinic-based therapy, and what types of questions to ask potential ABA providers during the intake process to determine if they will be a good fit for your child.
ABA Collective has learned that, when families have this information and knowledge, they are able to be more confident in their decisions when navigating the world of ABA therapy. Whether it is knowing how the insurance coverage process works or understanding the ethical guidelines that ABA companies abide by, ABA Collective wants to help families to best advocate for their child during this process.
ABA Collective will be offering free, virtual parent seminars that will include information about:
- What ABA is and how it can benefit your child and family
- How to choose between different types of ABA providers (e.g., home-based ABA, clinic-based ABA)
- What to know about the school district evaluation and placement process in New Jersey
- What to know about ABA insurance coverage in New Jersey
- Ethical guidelines in ABA and how to identify ethical practices of potential ABA providers
